French Stained Pine and Faux Bamboo Bedstead

late 19th century, the paneled headboard, footboard and rails trimmed in faux bamboo turnings, the posts with turned finials.

Condition Report: In good original "as found" condition. The surface is old, presumably original, with normal minor mars, abrasions, blemishes and shrinkage. The bed bolts are original or of the original style. They draw up firmly to create a tight, sturdy bed. There are some chips to the back side of a headboard finial, as well as a shrinkage crack at the top of that post. The crack does not appear to affect its sturdiness. Neither chips nor crack are visible from the front. There are two missing dovetailed rails to support a mattress. Width: approx. 51-7/8" between the rails Length: approx. 75"
