Fruit basket (2) - .930 silver - Netherlands - Late 19th century
Exceptional pair of Victorian style tripod fruit baskets, in sterling silver 930/1000, Dutch manufacturing of the late 19th century. Openwork upper part with geometric patterns, very finely chiseled lower part with raspberry-shaped cap, feet in the shape of lion's paws. The punches are difficult to read (imaginary punches) , perhaps intended for export. These two baskets have been tested with silver acid. No trace of blows, the interior has been regularly maintained so that it retains its superb shine. The body carvings are superbly preserved. Please look at the photos for a specific idea.
