GERMAN LILIPUT PISTOL

[ translate ]

SERIAL 6297. BARREL 1.5" CALIBER 4.25. This little pistol has been re blued and sports bone grips. The right side of the slide has HH and SS inlaid in silver. According to the family letter dated August 1968, this pistol had been in the family of Robert Williams who brought this back from Himmlers German castle after the war and that he brought back one of Himmlers uniforms where this pistol was found at the castle. They state the uniform was thrown out due to moth damage but they had this pistol in their possession since that time. We have absolutely no way to determine the validity of this story. It is the family story, hand written and dated that came with the gun. Did this pistol actually belong to the monster of Europe? Unless a photograph of him with this gun appears, it would be impossible to say with any certainty. As to the gun, the 4.25 mm Liliput pistol is one of the smallest semiautomatic handguns ever made, hence its name, derived from the fictional island of Lilliput, inhabited by tiny people. C&R The Liliput was manufactured by Waffenfabrik August Menz in Suhl, Germany from approximately 1920 to 1927. It retains nearly all of it's reapplied blue finish and comes in a small leather unmarked holster. C&R
