GOLD PLATED STERLING MK6 9mm ONE OF A KIND DISPLAY

SN SA0183. 8" barrel (smooth bore, not a live barrel). Sterling Semi Automatic 9mm Carbine MK6 stamped on the receiver. Plated in 18 Karat Gold. Includes a letter from the consignor who was employed as, "the last U.S. agent for the Sterling Armament Company, Ltd. of Dagenham, England" until 1986. The letter continues, "The subject gold plated Sterling Mk 6 9mm semi-automatic carbine was provided to me by Sterling to be used for display purposes a U.S. military and law enforcement weapons exhibitions and demonstrations. This unique, one-of-a-kind weapon was the only gold plated version of the Mk 6 carbine ever produced by Sterling. Sterling did, however, supply gold plated versions of its famous L2A3 (Mk 4) 9mm submachine guns to various Arab potentates. The Mk 6 is plated in 18 karat gold. Since it was intended for display purposes only, it was fitted with a gold plated, plastic, 8 inch barrel, , rather than the carbine's usual 16 inch steel barrel." This is a nonfunctioning firearm in its current configuration, but a live receiver. Also includes original packaging box, as well as a gold plated 34-round magazine and bayonet with scabbard and signed letter from the consignor. One of a kind, MINT*
