Mounted on a cast brass block with spring suspension and long static steel impulse rod, the pendulum consisting of a polished steel rod flanked by twin gilt brass rods terminating in a wide cast bezel framing the two 28cms dials; the front dial with Roman chapter ring around an open centre revealing the mirror-polished steel compensating levers at the base of the pendulum and the six spoke centre with signature plate, the rear dial with matching chapter ring, Breguet style hands and openework centre. Together with a male winding key. 146cms high. (2)
Eugène Beignet was active before 1861 till after 1882. There is not much information on this maker, we know that he had his shop and workshop at 96-100 rue Montmartre and won a first class medal at the Paris universal exhibition of 1867.
