Condition Report: Overall very good condition. The paint layer is stable with no signs of losses or lifting. Ultraviolet black light examination shows some minor retouching in the ruff collar (not significant). The canvas itself is laid down on a wood panel, adhered primarily on the edges. The weave of the canvas would likely suggest a date of the 18th or 19th century. The paint layer does exhibit normal craquelure (not distracting) and the paint layer exhibits the original unaffected impasto. Lastly the paint surface still exhibits some original varnish coat, which has yellowed.
