GREEK school of the end of the XIXth century Icon representing: 1) in the upper part the Deisis: in the centre Christ is represented as a "High Priest", dressed as a bishop, sitting on a throne, blessing with his right hand and holding the Gospels in his left hand. On either side, the Mother of God (on the left) and St. John the Precursor (or the Baptist) ( on the right) are depicted three-quarters of the way, with their arms folded over their chests, turned towards Christ with whom they intercede for the faithful who pray before this icon. 2) In the lower part, on the left is St. Dimitri overthrowing the pagan emperor, and on the right are Saints Constantine and Helen holding the Cross of Christ which the empress found.
