Pipistrello has been produced by Martinelli Luce since the 50s and to this day it is an icon of Italian design. The Pipistrello lamp was designed by Gae Aulenti in 1965, and subsequently produced to this day by Martinelli Luce. It is a table lamp characterised by the elusive shape of the conical base that develops upwards and widens in the sides of the diffuser, like the way a bat spreads its wings. The lamp consists of the diffuser in opaline methacrylate, the telescopic metal body and a base in metal with white varnish. The light source is LED and can be dimmed via a switch on the electrical wire.
