Claude Buffier was a French philosopher and cartographer. Despite knowledge to the contrary at the time this atlas was published, the map of America shows California as an island, and Florida as a stub. The map of Africa is also interesting, showing some of the old names for places on that continent.
Condition Report: Binding worn; cracked internally with several gatherings loose one nearly detached; some maps repaired from reverse; good.
