George III Sterling Silver Tea and Coffee Set

hallmarked London, 1794-1797, by Peter and Anne Bateman, including:
a teapot, h. 6", l. 11", w. 4";
a coffeepot, h. 10", l. 10", w. 4-3/4";
a sugar basket, h. 5" (7-1/4" with handle), l. 6", w. 4-5/8"; and
a cream jug, h. 4-7/8", l. 5-1/8", w. 3",
each of oval section and decorated with milled reeded and pricked and bright-cut leafy banding and centering cavetto-canted cartouches, the pots with crested wooden handles.
52.05 total t. oz. (including wooden handles)

Provenance: Estate of Zoe Barrow Talbert, Tyler, Texas.
Condition Report: **In generally quite good condition, with no dents, breaks or repairs to the bodies noted beyond the expected minor bumps and scuffs consistent with age. Some dents around the fitted sleeve of the coffeepot. The wooden handles likely later (but not recent) replacements, sound and well-executed. Each piece marked (on the underside) with: 1) the sterling lion passant; 2) the London crowned leopard's head; 3) the date letter "t" (sugar basket) for 1794/95, "u" (coffee and teapots) for 1795/96 or "A" (creamer) for 1796/97; 4) the George III bust duty mark; and 5) the PB/AB maker's mark of Peter and Anne Bateman. The lids and basket handle part-marked.
