Provenance: The artist’s son Walter Coleridge Richmond (1852-1931), and by descent (according to a label on the backing board).; with Radnorshire Fine Art, Wales.; Private Collection, UK. Note: In the absence of human figures and in their muted palettes, both loosely drawn landscapes evoke the atmospheric solitude of their environments, and an overall sense of a natural world largely undisturbed by human forces.
