A delightful French Art Nouveau cast bronze bust by Georges Van der Straeten (1856-1928) a Belgian sculptor working in Paris. The sculpture exhibits fine patina and details. It's a really charming sculpture, full of life and typical of "art nouveau" or "Jugendstil". It really brings you back to the end of 19th century in France The bronze is signed VAN DER STRAETEN, foundry is "Société des bronzes de Paris", (see pictures) . It's a genuine antique bronze that is over 100 years old. It's not a recent copy. Very heavy. A truly wonderful artwork for "Art Nouveau" lovers.
