German Porcelain Coffee Tea Set Art Deco, Winterling Bavaria 1940s

Mid-Century Modern German porcelain coffee or tea set of three pieces: cup, saucer and dessert plate by Winterling, Roeslau, Bavaria. Abstract Art Deco style gold and pink motif, golden rim. The porcelain mark, crown without 'W' underneath, was in use only for five years, 1945-1950.

The plate 7.3/4" [19.7cm] across; the saucer is 6" [15.2cm] across; the cup is 2.1/8" [5.4cm] tall and 4" [10.2cm] across at the top, very little gold rim wear, no chips, no hairlines, no creases, very good condition.

Gebruder Winterling Porzelain ManufacturingThe company history started in Roeslau, located in the heart of the so-called 'Fichtelgebirge' in the Upper Franconia area of Bavaria, where the seven Winterling brothers founded the "Gebruder Winterling O.H.G." in 1907 with a newly built facility for porcelain production. As business went well straight from the beginning, the facility is upgraded and expanded quite often. Went out of business in 2000.
