Horizontal se-tenant pair with normal, left stamp the error showing clear second surcharge most noticeable on the "5" and "p", used with additional Foochow Surcharge and 1898, 25pf Orange, 45 Degree Overprint (5a; Michel 5I), all tied by "Futschau, Deutsche Post 2?/12 00" circular datestamps on legal-sized registered cover to Shanghai, Foochow registry label, Shanghai (Jan. 2, 1901) arrival backstamp, cover with two insignificant vertical file folds not affecting stamps VERY FINE. THE USE OF THE 1900 5-PFENNINGS FOOCHOW PROVISIONAL SURCHARGE DOUBLED ON COVER IS EXCEPTIONALLY RARE. VERY FEW COVERS ARE THOUGHT TO EXIST. Signed Grobe. With 2003 Jaschke-Lantelme certificate.
