Germany, Offices in China, 1900, 2pf Blue Postal Card, Tientsin Handstamp. Cancelled over indicia by "Tientsin, Deutsche Post 26/1 01" circular datestamp and addressed to Herman Liebert in Erlau, Germany, manuscript endorsement "Feld"(Postkarte), Erlau (Mar. 28) arrival datestamp (genuine but backdated) VERY FINE. THERE ARE ONLY THREE RECORDED 2-PFENNINGS POSTAL CARDS OVERPRINTED WITH THE TIENTSIN PROVISIONAL. All three recorded examples of this overprinted postal card are known addressed to Liebert in Erlau and bear the same postmarks. It is important to note that the 2pf post cards were not issued in the German Offices in China. Although, certain individuals were given special privileges and exceptions were made to overprint German stamps and stationery which weren't normally sold at the post offices there. In similar fashion, these cards weren't mailed through the post but received "arrival" datestamps in favor. Signed Drahn. With 2004 Jakubek certificate.
