Germany, Used in China, 1890, 2m Brownish Purple (36; Michel V37e). Vertical strip of three, used with 1889, 10pf Carmine, 50pf Chocolate (48, 51; Michel V47d, V50d), 50pf with interpanneau gutter selvage at top, all tied by multiple strikes of "Shanghai 12/12 96" circular datestamps on legal sized linen-lined printed "Deutsch-Asiatische Bank, Shanghai" cover to London, England, violet "ENGLISH MAIL" handstamp directive, London (Jan. 3, 1897) arrival backstamp, cover with some slight wrinkling and vertical file fold at left, still Very Fine, an impressively scarce use of the 2m multiple on cover, the 2m is typically found used on parcel cards and other postal forms, commercial covers are rare, signed Bartels and Bothe BPP
