Germany, Used in China, 1900, 25pf Orange & Black on Yellow (57; Michel PVda). Tied by crisp strike of "K.D. Feldpoststation No. 10 17/6" circular datestamp on large bright buff 1901 cover to Erlau, Germany, manuscript "Feldpostbrief" along top, framed "S.B. Ostas. Exped. T. Bat. 6 Inf-Regmts" handstamp, originally marked "frei" but crossed out, Erlau (Aug. 3) arrival backstamp, stamp with traces of soiling between perfs, still Very Fine and rare, the 25pf value is one of the rarest German stamps used from the Boxer Rebellion Feldpost offices as they were not supplied to the Feldpost offices, the only explanation is that these were privately carried by soldiers, or as the accompanying certificate notes "Brieftaschenmarke" ("wallet stamp"), this would help explain the slight soiling seen between the perfs of the stamp on this cover, with 1986 Steuer certificate, Michel €8,000
