Large cavalry or horse flintlock pistol: Total length: 49 cm Barrel length: 31 cm Calibre: 16 mm Large German (Holy Roman Empire) or Prussian officer’s pistol, known as a horse pistol, circa 1700-1730. Round barrel, with flat sections at the bolt, beautiful engravings, slightly flared. Lock with swan-necked hammer, flat-bodied, finely engraved. Chiselled iron fittings. Walnut wood trim, partly carved, decorated with inlays of silver filigree. On this model there is no functional rod, but a small decorative rod (originally there was no recess under the length of the barrel) . Mechanism in very good condition, complete and functional, very firm springs. The pistol is in a very nicely preserved condition.
