Gibeon Meteorite End Cut Iron, IVA Great Nama Land, Namibia - (25° 30'S, 18° 0'E) Found: 1836 This fantastic end cut of Gibeon Meteorite is a study in duality providing two distinct faces with a cut and polished primary display surface showcasing the intricate Widmanstätten pattern diagnostic of a number of Iron varieties. The reverse is natural meteorite, with numerous "thumbprint" regmaglypts covering the vast majority of the planetary-like surface. The form is relatively flat with a pronounced knobby mass on the raw side of the specimen. The irregular, shallow example exhibits an interesting shape with a flat cut bottom that is also etched to reveal the internal structure of the Iron meteorite. Overall Measurements: 8.66 x 6.22 x 1.63 inches (22.00 x 15.80 x 4.15 cm), weighs 1,900 grams [Scale: 1 inch, with mark at 1 cm]
