Gibeon Meteorite "Mortar & Pestle" Iron, IVA Great Nama Land, Namibia - (25° 30'S, 18° 0'E) Found: 1836 This truly unique offering actually consists of two specimens of Gibeon Meteorite that have been placed together as a set for the obvious reason of looking like a mortar & pestle. This duo of meteorite pieces is striking and abstract given how the specimens formed naturally allowing for this creation to be imagined and presented. The total weight of the pair is some 5 kilograms (11 pounds), so this item provides a nice amount of the iconic meteorite. The "mortar" consists of an amazing natural bowl with a relatively large hole, making the singular piece something extremely rare and special simply as a superb representation of the Gibeon meteorite. The "pestle" is a basic, nubby form with a bulbous end and a tapered end such that is easily worthy of its role in this set. These two associated pieces are clearly meant to go together. Overall Measurements: 6.69 x 4.72 x 2.56 inches (17.00 x 12.00 x 6.50 cm), total weight 4.99 kilograms (11 pounds) [Scale: 1 inch, with mark at 1 cm]
