Gibeon Meteorite Slice Iron, IVA Great Nama Land, Namibia - (25° 30'S, 18° 0'E) Found: 1836 Shaped somewhat like the continent of South America from a certain orientation and in the abstract, this slice of Gibeon from Namibia is a wonderful meteorite. An intense and striking Widmanstätten pattern is featured on both of the brilliant etched faces. This specimen weighs 455 grams and presents with a number of dark gray dots on both complex surfaces including a relatively large circular inclusion of the rare Iron sulfide mineral Troilite. Overall Measurements: 7.68 x 5.12 x 0.15 inches (19.50 x 13.00 x 0.37 cm), weighs 455 grams [Scale: 1 inch, with mark at 1 cm]
