beautiful gilt bronze garniture style Louis XV, attributed to Henri Picard. This impressive set of watches consists of a large rococo golden bronze mantle style clock and a pair of five-enlightened chandeliers en suite, modeled with fruit vines and bacchanalian putto. The watch case is of the shape of a waist surmounted by a seated cherub who holds a bunch of vine leaves on a circular sphere with a glass door with hinges. The sphere finely pursued with a bacchanalian putto, with Roman numerals of blue and white enamel, on top of a recumbent putto and a breeding goat, on a pedestal covered with flowers, raised in a 'C' reticulated roll and acanthus base. The pair of chandeliers of five lights in suite, modeled with stems of volutes in the shape of "C", which emit shirred chandeliers with reticulated drip trays and appliques in the form of an urn. Rocky bases with volutes 'C', vines and acanthus, support putti bacanal, and stand on rocky bases. French, circa 1870. Maker Picard, Henri The important fondeur and doreur Henri Picard worked in Paris from 1831 to 1884, especially for the Emperor Napoleon III. He was based in Paris at 6 rue Jarente from 1831 to 1839, before moving to 10 rue de la Perle. The firm was active until around 1890. Celebrated for the high quality of its production, Henri Picard supplied many important sponsors, including garnitures and tableware for the small appartements of Emperor Napoleon III at the Louvre. An important pair of Picard twelve-light candelabra remain today in the Louvre Museum. Measure clock : 20 1/2"h x 14 3/4 in w x 8 in d. Measure candelabra: 22 1/2 in x 11 1/4 in w x 11 1/4 in d.
