Gilt-bronze and Ormolu-mounted George Washington Figural Mantel Clock, probably Jacques Nicolas Pierre Francois Dubuc, 1815-19, the standing figure of Washington dressed in his military uniform, his right elbow resting atop a rectangular plinth centering a spreadwing eagle on a small plinth lettered "E PLURIBUS UNUM," above the unsigned circular gilt dial, all on a rectangular stepped and molded base centering a figural scene in relief, on flattened ball feet, the plinth lettered "WASHINGTON./First in WAR, First in PEACE,/First in the HEARTS of his COUNTRYMEN," the piece decorated throughout in neoclassical ornament, (needs regilding, lacks hands), ht. 20 1/4, base wd. 16, base dp. 5 1/4 in.
