Le maioliche, Milan, 2000, p. 216, sch. 78Designed in 1929, it represents a rare majolica. The family to which it belongs, designed for porcelain, is richly complex in its numerous variations. The series (of which "La sirena prolifica" and "La sirena fidelis" are subfamilies) has the migration of the mermaids as its main scene, while the complete painting is found on a large white and gold cist (Civiche Raccolte d'Arte Applicata e Incisioni, Milan, Castello Sforzesco) which, conceived in December 1929 and produced in the first months of the following year, will be the vase-program.
