Giovanni Andrea Sirani (Bologna, 1610 - there 1670) , Maddalena, oil on canvas 75 x 60. Work born inside the workshop of Guido Reni, from a well-known Renian model. Giovanni Andrea Sirani was the main pupil of Guido Reni and father of the equally famous Elisabetta Sirani. Very high executive quality canvas, of rare elegance and very well preserved. The quality and refinement of the drapery, of the volumes of the figure (in particular of the hands, as well as of the face) , the play of reflections on the hair, the soft rendering of the skin and the management of the tonal passages of this painting are worthy of the best lesson. by Guido Reni. The work is certified by authenticity and studies by Stephen Pepper (author of the General Catalog of Guido Reni and one of the leading experts in the world of the school of Reni) and Denis Mahon (scholar insignia of Caravaggio, Guido Reni and of the whole Bolognese seventeenth century and Roman) . The canvas was subjected to a diagnostic test which demonstrated the originality of the piece, the perfect consistency of the pigment with the proposed dating, its consistency with the technique of the Reni school and the excellent state of conservation. For verification and internal policy we performed: pigment analysis with XRF (X-ray fluorescence) and FC infrared reflectography, in addition UV fluorescence and surface analysis with a digital videomicroscope. The work is in an exceptional state of conservation, the pictorial surface is intact and very well preserved. There are traces of a protective surface varnish that was not completely removed during cleaning to respect the glazing and originality of the work. Only a small restoration to the right of the nose is worth noting. Some photos of the UV fluorescence are inserted to demonstrate the state of conservation. Work with Certificate of Authenticity and Legitimate Origin. The work is shipped by express courier 24/48 hours with INSURANCE. Shipping and insurance are the responsibility of the seller.
