Please note the color and shades in the online catalogue illustration may vary depending on screen settings. On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 representing the darkest, deepest albumen print, this print is a 7. The tones are more brown, rather than eggplant. There is very good detail seen in the tree branches in the foreground, the buildings in the middle ground, and the craggy rockface in the background. This photograph in in generally very good condition. Typical of albumen prints, there are scattered hairline scratches and impressions visible in raking light, none of which detract from its overall fine appearance. There is a 5-inch linear abrasion in the upper left area of the sky. There is edge-fading in places along both vertical sides, extending no more than one-inch into the image. There is some edge-lightening along the lower edge, especially toward the lower corners of the print. The mount is worn, lightly soiled, and its edges are age-darkened. The corners are bumped. There is an old adhesive remnant at the lower edge and a 1/4-inch horizontal tear at the lower left corner. The reverse is lightly soiled and age-darkened at the edges. There is an adhesive remnant at the lower edge.
