DESCRIPTION Beautiful and very imposing Burmese Gong in bronze, used in Buddhist ceremonies. These gongs were often offered to monasteries by families during the novitiate. This gong is interesting because of its weight, dimensions, for the sound it produces, but also for the story it tells, engraved on it. It was offered by Mr. U Phoe Hlaing to the monastery of Yay Le, located in the village of Sin Luu, near the town of Meikthilar, located in the centre of the country. It offers a very pure and deep sound. Weight: 5. 4 kilograms, cire perdue (lost wax) technique, unique piece, beautiful patina of wear. It is sold with a custom-made exhibition stand in steel. Around the early 20th century. CONDITION: Good condition, but it bears the traces of its age and use (have a look at the pictures) . It will be carefully packaged and sent by insured mail with track & trace.
