Grand Dutch skies in a Voerman river view

Description: - VOERMAN, Jan Sr. (Dutch 1857 - 1941). IJselgezicht [A view of the river IJssel]. Oil on panel, signed 'J. Voerman' (lower left); framed in gilded frame, with a numbered label '742' with title 'IJselgezicht' from Huinck & Scherjon, Amsterdam on the reverse. Spots of surface grime, paint layer thin in places, few minor spots of inpaint in the lower left, else in good condition.
Notes: Moving to Hattem in 1896 had a considerable influence on the art of Jan Voerman: his brushwork became smoother and IJssel views became his favourite subject. Dimensions: Image size 37.5 x 61.5 cm., frame size 56 x 79 cm. Artist Name: VOERMAN, Jan Sr. (Dutch 1857 - 1941).
