Greek Hellenistic 21K Gold Ring w/ Glass Cabochon
Greek, Hellenistic Period, ca. late 4th to 1st century BCE. A fabulous and wearable ring formed from 88% gold (equivalent to 21K gold) with a thin shank, slightly widened shoulders, and a discoid face with a raised central bezel. Within the bezel is an opaque glass cabochon of a jet-black hue that exhibits a frosted appearance on the top. A gorgeous example of fine Greek artistry! Size (ring): 0.75" W x 0.8" H (1.9 cm x 2 cm); (glass cabochon): 0.375" L x 0.3" W (1 cm x 0.8 cm); quality of gold: 88% (equivalent to 21K); total weight: 8 grams; US ring size 5.25.
