Greece, Athens / Attica, ca. 5th century BCE. An excellent Greek mold-formed pottery oil lamp with a circular body, a large fill hole with a lipped rim, a small round opening in its base to attach a thin pole or rod, and a short wicked spout. Adorned with a black hued interior and concentric circles encompassing the fill hole, this beautiful vessel impresses viewers with not only its form and technique, but also with how it symbolizes the cherishing of light that has been consistent throughout time and unites us with the ancients! Size: 4.625" Diameter with Spout x 3.75" Diameter without Spout x 1.125" H (11.7 cm x 9.5 cm x 2.9 cm)
