Zircon is a beautiful gemstone that is not to be confused with cubic zirconia (CZ). Zircon is a natural gemstone that typically comes from Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Thailand or Burma. They are termed "metamict" meaning that similar to green diamonds their color is due to natural radiation which occurs in the ground. A stable and non-harmful result of this natural process, green zircons such as this one are a rare stones suitable for the knowledgeable collector yet sufficiently durable to be mounted as a unique item of jewelry.
