Provenance: Sale, Bonhams, London, The Connoisseur's Library Sale, 8 February 2023, lot 408 Condition Report: The canvas has been relined. UV light reveals substantial strengthening and restoration in the background, most notably in the green and brownish pigments of the landscape. However, such restoration appears to be done professionally and consistently, blending well with the original paint. Further retouching is also visible on the darker ones of the horse, as well as few, slight retouches on the figure. Further restoration is visible on the wall of the house.
