In the 1980s, Lawrence Marcus, owner of the luxury department store Neiman Marcus located in Dallas, received an inquiry from Hermès. Did Lawrence Marcus possibly have a tip about an American artist to design scarf motifs in the South American genre?
Lawrence tipped off Oliver, which led Oliver to design a whopping 17 different motifs over the next 32 years for Hermès. Kermit Oliver Grail is the first and so far only American artist Hermès has collaborated with in his scarf design.Show more
