HJ Photos - Set of 34 - (Hitlerjugend) KLV . 1943/44

Before the Second World War, the name Kinderlandverschickung (KLV) (Children's land dispatch) was used exclusively for the recreational transportation of children. Today, this term is mostly used to refer to the extended Kinderlandverschickung , in which school children and mothers with small children from German cities threatened by the air war were housed in less endangered areas in the longer term. The 'Reichsdienststelle KLV' probably evacuated a total of over 2,000,000 children by the end of the war, presumably supplying 850,000 schoolchildren between the ages of 10 and 14, but also older people in KLV camps. There are numerous and detailed eyewitness reports about life in "KLV camps". Reports of 'mother and child deportation', placement in foster families or with relatives in 'air-safe areas' are rare. 34 foto HJ - Hitlerjugend KLV Lager Sobieslau Wallsee a.d.
