H.L. Leonard Raised Pillar Trout Reel

A German silver and hard rubber reel with a 3" diameter (measured pillar to pillar) and 15/16" wide spool. Faintly stamped "H.L. Leonard - Pat. No. 191813", the patent number issued to F.J. Philbrook in 1877, this example features a sliding click switch, screw-off end cap and a nickel silver foot. Made by Julius Vom Hofe for Leonard, a VG+ condition example that will improve with a good cleaning and polish.
