DIVISION POSSIBLE ON REQUEST This exceptional bedroom furniture entirely moulded and sculpted with holly branches was presented within the French Section at the Universal and International Exhibition of Liège held from 25 April to 6 November 1905. It is the fruit of the work of the Hochard brothers who received the gold medal on this occasion.
This bedroom consists of a fireplace mantle, a bed and a mirror cabinet.
The treatment of the decoration with its sinuous lines and vegetal motifs is typical of Art Nouveau. Another example of bedroom furniture in this style can be found in the Musée d'Orsay and was made in 1899 by the Belgian architect and decorator Gustave Serrurier-Bovy (1858-1910).
