Handcol. engraved map with cartouche, coat-of-arms & compass-rose after Jacob van Deventer. (Publ. in Antwerp by Abraham Ortelius, between 1592-1595). Ca. 35,5 x 49 cm. Behind passepartout & framed (behind glass).
¶ Blonk (Hollandia Comitatus) 11. Second state (of 4) with the sea engraved with waves instead of stipples. Attractive map of Holland & surroundings (incl. “De Zvyder Zee” & a few Wadden Sea Islands) published by the Flemish cartographer Abraham Ortelius (1527-1598). – A few minor imperfections (vertical fold in the middle (as publ.), small brown spot in lower left corner, occ. sl. creased in lower blank margin), but nevertheless in good condition (not examined out of frame).
