Handmade Salt Water Reel
An unmarked reel made by a skilled hand, perhaps a machinist, that measures 4" in diameter with a 2 3/8" wide spool. The alloy reel features a free-moving level wind that rides on two thin frame pillars, an adjustable brake on the head plate that resembles an old stick shift, and a large wooden grasp on the hand machined handle. Stamped only with a pair of number 3's and 4's, presumably to match up parts during assembly, a heavy reel that will be right at home in a collection of vintage saltwater reels.
