"Willows", by Harry Horn; multi-colored etching on heavy stock wove paper; limited edition of 40; plate# 1; pencil signed "Weiden" [Willow Trees]; marked 1-40, and signature "H.Horn 90" [1990].

Design [the copper plate size] c. 6" x 4.1/4" [150mm x 108mm], the paper size is 9.7/8" x c. 7.1/2" [250mm x 190mm]; high quality heavy paper; fine condition.

Harry Horn, German painter, engraver, etcher, born 1929 in Berlin, Germany completed his education as painter in 1945-1948. He also studied sculpture by Gertrud Clasen. Horn worked as painter at the theater Berliner Volksbuehne, East Berlin [1977-1989]. After the German unification in 1989, he became primarily a freelance artist regularly exhibiting in art galleries in Berlin and Mecklenburg.

In the 1970s, Horn developed his own etching technique and style, applying multi-colored ink on the copper plate, creating this way a color etchings. As the result of this technique, each print is slightly different in color-- an unique artwork. Horn also worked in different techniques including oil, etching, engraving and is specialized in landscape and cityscape. His artworks are present in art collections and galleries.
