[ translate ]

Heinrich Bürck (1850-1906)
Work dimensions: 55 x 65 cm
Signature: Top right, 1887
\r
Provenance: from a Dutch private collection
\r
Although little is known about Heinrich Bürck's life, this work perfectly illustrates his ability as a portrait painter. Bürck studied with the history painter Theodor Grosse (1829-1891) at the Academy of Fine Arts in his native city of Dresden and then went on to study with the Belgian artist Wilhelm Pauwels (1830-1904) in Antwerp. Bürck then returned to Germany to study with the realist painter Karl Gussow (1843-1907) in Berlin, a teacher who apparently refined the way his student handled paint and delicate brushwork, a skill that is also reflected in this work .
\r
Viewing is of course possible. We also have our own in-house frame shop, which is celebrating its 85th anniversary. We also use restorers from the trade organization: 'Restauratoren Nederland'. The state only concerns the work. If you would like to use this, we would of course like to hear from you.
