Hendrick Frans v. Lint (1684-1763)-Circle "Italianate Landscapes with Figures", two oil miniatures

As our comparisons show (see images nr. 15-19) these two small round oil on copper paintings were made in 1st half of 18th century by an Italian (or working in Italy foreign artist) strongly influenced by works of well-known Flemish painter Hendrick Frans van Lint.

Hendrick Frans van Lint, called Studio, was born in 1684 in Antwerp and died in 1763 in Rome. In 1696/97 he was a trainee of Pieter van Bredael, then traveled to Rome. It was there that he received his nickname "Studio". In 1744 the artist became a member of the Congregatio Virtuosi, and in 1752, its regent. His specialty was to paint extensive Italian landscapes with figures (like ours). A lot of these paintings belong to collections of the world's greatest museums.
