Series numbered from 1 to 9 at the bottom, next to "HG inv. ", lower down Latin inscription of two verses by Franco Estius, re-engraved with slightly modified position of the words, and initials "F. E. "
The Muses are depicted full-figure, seated and in profile, each with the symbols of their own art.
