Herend “Queen Victoria” dinner service, second half of the 20th century

Herend, specifically 6 dessert plates and 1 serving plate, all part of the "Queen Victoria" decoration in the "VBO" variant "Victoria with Gold Edges".
Dessert Plates: Showcase the classic Queen Victoria design with scattered colorful flowers and butterflies. The edges are scalloped and finished with a gold line.
Serving plate: Oval in shape and larger than dessert plates, it features a similar decoration with flowers and butterflies, arranged to fill the space harmoniously. The edge of this plate is also gilded and features a relief work.

Colors: The set features a bright color palette, with the white background making the multicolored flowers, butterflies and gold border pop.

The butterflies in the Herend Queen Victoria dinner service make them unique and unmistakable, especially because they are hand-painted.
Each decorative motif, such as leaves, flowers or ornaments, is created freehand by one of the factory's approximately 800 painters.

Brand: Coat of arms, “Herend Hungary”, “Handpainted”, different numbers in blue; “Herend” and numbers impressed.

The Queen Victoria model service has the “Neuozier” relief and is painted with butterflies and scattered flowering sprigs of magnolias, peonies and other oriental flowers in polychrome. The edge has fringe motifs in green and gold.
At the Universal Exhibition in London in 1851, the decorative motif of this service, called “Queen Victoria”, won its first prize and Queen Victoria of England, from whom the design takes its name, ordered a complete table service for herself.
