Antique late 19th century diminutive slipper chair in the Aesthetic taste attributed to Herter Brothers. Geometric and pierce carved crest flanked with figural carved mounts above an upholstered seat. A similar chair appears in a period photograph of the Drawing Room at Thurlow Lodge, the Menlo Park, California residence of Slocum Latham. Chair approximately 29 in. x 18 in. x 16 in. Poor to fair condition with gold gilt losses, carving losses, cracks to wood, old repairs. Upholstery in poor condition. Hill Auction Gallery will not ship.
