Hettier Vincent & Daum Lorrain - a rare 1930 Art Deco lamp

[ translate ]

HETTIER & VINCENT
. A wonderful French art deco lamp in wrought iron, around 1925-1930. The base is by the maison Hettier & Vincent. A famous Parisian company in lighting during the interbellum. The base can be seen on page 7 in the General Catalogue H&V issued. In the catalog it holds a Gallé shade. Over the years I have seen many variations with this model iron base. I even had the base in different sizes. H&V sold it with many different shades mounted. In the catalogues they published we can see that for their lamp shades in coloured glass they mainly worked with Daum sometimes Muller and for a few lamps they used shades of the glass factories Schneider and Gallé.

. The height of the lamp is 35. 8 cm. The shade has a diameter of 18 cm. It is signed Lorrain in acid. Lorrain (Verreries des belles Etoiles) was a second plant Daum freres opened in the mid 20s for their production of moulded pressed glasses and coloured vases and lamp shades.
. The lamp is in excellent condition. No chips or cracks. A small production irregularity on top of the bowl a little bubbled uneven area, not distracting at all. The base has a nice deep-brown patina and the lamp is rewired with new twisted rayon covered cord. It holds a European E14 socket. For the States Canada or Japan I will rewire it with an american candelabra base socket and 2-prong plug.

. Safe packaging guaranteed : As specialized restorer of French art Deco lighting I sell my lamps online for a fraction of the prices art deco shops sell for. For over 20 years I ship my parcels worldwide with the precious items well protected and fully insured.
