IMPORTANT CARVED AND POLYCHROME PAINT-DECORATED SPREAD-WINGED AMERICAN EAGLE WITH DRAPED FLAGS AND SHIELD, JOHN HALEY BELLAMY (1836-1914), KITTERY POINT, MAINE, CIRCA 1900

appears to retain all of its original paint.

Height 30 by Width 26 by Depth 8 in.

Condition Report:
In very fine condition. Hairline surface cracks in the neck and proper left wing. Light scattered paint loss on ridged areas are copacetic. Overall cracquelure, light coat pof aged varnish, and embedded dirt are commensurate with age. Examined under ultraviolet light- no apparent evidence of inpainting. The reverse side with excellent oxidization and some shrinkage cracks.
