INTERWAR US PRESIDENT'S HUNDRED SHOOTING BADGE
Developed during the American Civil War and continued into the 20th Century by the NRA and CMP, the "President's Hundred" is a shooting competition for American military soldiers. The top prize is a letter signed by the president of the united states and the authorization to wear a badge or tab which reads "The President's Hundred." This particular example is one from before World War II -- the match was cancelled several times during the 1930s due to the Great Depression. This badge is allmarked "V.H. Blackinton Co." on the back, has screw-on pin baclkings, and the obverse features the flag of the President of the United States, "US" and "NRA" and is dated 1939. The flag is thin enamel. Some light age and patina on both sides. Excellent
