Condition Report:
Overall the condition of the marble is good, with some wear to the surface consistent with age. The marble has recently undergone professional cleaning. The surface is slightly coarse in some areas, such as the hair, drapery, hands, and the base, which indicates former placement outside. It is possible that the surface of the body of the figure was repolished at a later date. A section of the hair at the top is carved separately. There are small naturally occurring inclusions in the marble throughout, and in particular at the proper left side and back of the neck, the proper left shoulder, proper left thigh (with some white fill) and the lower legs. Minor veining consistent with the material, some veins seem to have been concealed with white paint, including one at the lower back. There are a few minor residues including to the legs and to the abdomen. There is a possible well-concealed reattachment to the index finger of the proper right hand.
