This is an extremely elegant set in excellent condition. Each of the sterling silver pieces bear the Italian sterling silver hallmark "1 AL" - A. CESA S.C., Via Trotti, 10, Alessandria, Italy; active from March 1935 until December 1971. The set of 12 Mother-of-Pearl handled dessert knives with vermeil blades is French and each piece bears the French government's Head of the Minerva-1 hallmark certifying a minimum of 950 sterling silver in addition to the manufacturer's hallmark of Pierre Queille; dating them from between 1814 and 1846. This set is of exceptional quality and craftsmanship. Check the intricacy of the design on each of the pieces. The set has been meticulously cared for and really is in outstanding condition.
