Icon, Christ Almighty - Pantocrator - Silver, Wood - Late 19th century
Original, unique Antique Russian Icon of Christ Pantocrator , with Moscow Silver 84 Riza. Excellent , fine workmanship on both the icon and silver riza. The icon's painting has very nice dark-tone colours, finely painted. -The 84 silver hallmarks reflect to the city (84 and city symbol) , which is Moscow, Russia (dates from 1882 to 1889) . -The CK3, which is the silversmith's signature, could be (not sure!) Stephan Levin's, who worked in Moscow as a silversmith master from 1875 to 1897 (found really similar signatures online, but not the same) . Measurements: 22 x 17. 5 x 2 cm Condition: There are traces of ageing both on the silver oklad and the icon painting. The icon has paint chipping offs, paint cracks on the surface and the silver oklad has wear and tear on the sides (especially near the nails) and on the front top too, otherwise very nice condition - please see all photos.
